Releasing God’s Creative Ability

RELEASING GOD’S CREATIVE ABILITY

MAKING DREAMS A REALITY

Pastor Doug’s Notes – Wednesday Night Refreshing January 20, 2016

  1. Words are creative containers that cause things to exist & manifest.
    1. Just as God used words to create, so you & I use words to create.
    2. Positive words produce positive results. Negative words produce negative results.

  1. To create like Jesus created, Speak like He speaks. Use words that He uses.
  • Use God’s words – speak what He says; righteous words; faithful words; steadfast words; gracious words; words based in God’s authority; Spiritual & life-giving words; wholesome words

  1. Holy Spirit is waiting for you to speak God’s words so He can bring them to pass.
  • Gen 1:2 The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters. AMP
  • 2 Cor 4:13-14 The Spirit of faith believing & speaking based on what is written in Scriptures
  • Faith is believing, resting, knowing, being confident in and being fully persuaded that God’s word is the reality.

  1. Creation is a process of speaking God’s words, believing what He said & resting in it.
  • Gen 2:3-4 On the seventh day God rested from all His work which God created & made.
  • Heb 4:2 Mix faith with what you hear; 2 Cor 4:13-14 Believe & speak; Rom 10:8-11 Heart & mouth

  1. Everything created has a spiritual side & a natural side.
  • Gen 1:1 God created the heaven & the earth.
  • Col 1:16-17 By Him all things were created that are in heaven & that are on earth, visible & invisible; thrones; dominions; principalities; powers. All things were created through Him…
  • Rom 1:20 His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse. NKJV

  1. Things that are created follow after a pattern & image.     What image are you using to create what you want to happen, what you want to have or what you want to exist?
  • Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; KJV
  • Gen 1:27 God patterned them after himself; male and female he created them. NLT
  • Gen 1:27 So God created human beings, making them to be like Himself. TEV
  • Gen 1:27 God prepareth the man in His image; in the image of God He prepared him, YLT
  • Heb 6:13-14 For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself
  • Use the right Image – Ex 20:4-5 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image — any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God. NKJV Lev 26:1; Deut 4:16-20;
  • Rom 8:28-30 Be conformed to the image of His Son,
  • 2 Cor 3:18 We all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

  1. God Creates Good Things
  • Ps 51:10 God creates clean hearts and right, persevering, steadfast spirits. AMP
  • Create – OT:1254 bara’ (baw-raw’); a primitive root; (absolutely) to create; (qualified) to cut down (a wood), select, feed (as formative processes): –choose, create (creator), cut down, dispatch, do, make (fat). (Biblesoft’s New Exhaustive Strong’s Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

  1. Creativity increases through the seed.
  • Seed creates futures & sustains generations.
  • Gen 8:22 Seedtime & harvest will remain as long the earth remains.
  • 2 Cor 9:10 God gives seed to sower.

  • Seed – NT:4685 spao (spah’-o); a primary verb; to draw: KJV – draw (out). NT:4703 sporos (spro’-os); from NT:4687; a scattering (of seed), i.e. (concretely) seed (as sown): KJV – seed (X sown).           NT:4687 speiro (spi’-ro); probably strengthened from NT:4685 (through the idea of extending); to scatter, i.e. sow (literally or figuratively): KJV – sow (-er), receive seed.

(Biblesoft’s New Exhaustive Strong’s Numbers and Concordance)

  • Gen 47:23-24 Joseph gave people seed. Out of the increase, they were to give Pharaoh 1/5
  • Gen 1:11 God created plants yielding seed & fruit trees yielding fruit whose seed is in itself, each according to its kind, upon the earth. It was so. (Gen 1:29 Seed-bearing; Gal 3:16 Abraham’s seed; Eccl 11:6; Mk 4; 1 Pe 1:21 God’s word a seed;

  1. He creates covenants & makes promises
  • Ex 34:10 Behold, I make a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the LORD. For it is an awesome thing that I will do with you. NKJV

  1. God Creates New Things
  • Num 16:30 But if the LORD creates a new thing, & the earth opens its mouth & swallows them up with all that belongs to them, & they go down alive into the pit, then you will understand that these men have rejected the LORD.” NKJV
  • Isa 65:17-18 “For behold, I create new heavens & a new earth; The former things will not be remembered or come to mind. 18 “But be glad & rejoice forever in what I create; For behold, I create Jerusalem for rejoicing & her people for gladness. NASU

  1. God Creates New Things
  • Num 16:30 God creates new things; Isa 65:17-18 He creates new heavens & earth. Isa 66:22; 2 Pet 3:13; Rev 21:1 No more sea;

1ST QUARTER JAN – MAR 2016

God leads, guides and Directs

God is our good Shepherd and we know Him, we hear His voice and follow Him.

He teaches us to do His will.  He is our God and His good Spirit leads us on level ground.

As Children of God, we allow Holy Spirit to lead, guide and direct us in the way we should go.

As we pay attention to God’s commands, His peace flows over us like a river, and righteousness washes over us like the waves of the sea.

The God of our salvation guides us in truth and faithfulness.  He leads us in paths we have not known.  He makes darkness light and uneven places into a plain.  He gives us direction and our Lord does not forsake us.

Our ears will hear God speaking behind us saying, “This is the way, walk in it,”. God orders our feet in the way of peace, by shinning His light brightly in darkness.  God shows us the path that leads to life.

The steps of God’s people are directed and established by the Lord when they delight in His way.  His word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path.

The Lord shall guide us continually and satisfy us even in a drought or dry places.  We shall be like a well-watered garden and a spring of water whose waters continue to spring up.

5 Keys to Win A Fight With Faith!

5 Keys to Fight With Faith Like a Pro and Win

1 Timothy 6:12

Fight the good fight of the faith; lay hold of the eternal life to which you were summoned and [for which] you confessed the good confession [of faith] before many witnesses.

5 Keys

1.

Have a Good Weapon – For any fight, whether natural or spiritual, you need to have the correct weapon for the fight you are involved in.  As we see in the scriptures below, our weapons for warfare are not physical (touch, feel, see, hear, taste), they are mighty before God. They are also effective in overthrowing destruction and strongholds.  So what weapon is mighty before God? Faith. . .

2 Corinthians 10:2-4 (AMP) – 2 I entreat you when I do come [to you] that I may not [be driven to such] boldness as I intend to show toward those few who suspect us of acting according to the flesh [on the low level of worldly motives and as if invested with only human powers].
3 For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons.
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds,

2.

Use Your Faith –  A weapon in the hands of the most skilled fighter is useless unless the fighter uses the weapon. Our faith is only useful to us if we use it. We know that the bible tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God (see Hebrews 11:6). The last person you want to displease in a spiritual fight is God. God has at His disposal, and has made it available to you, angels, powerful words, access to places, people and things that you need to win your fight. The way you access and operate all of these things is through Faith.  Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God (see Romans 10:17).

3.

You must know what God’s Word says – To be able to fight anything in the spiritual realm, you have to know the Word of God on the subject. It is not enough to hear what other people know, you have to know for yourself. You do this by developing a reading and understanding plan of God’s Word. You do this especially in times when things are going well. This allows you to read objectively and get an understanding. Soldiers train for war before there is even a threat of one. They become prepared, qualified and positioned before a war ever starts. In some of their lifetime, they may never actually see war, however, they were prepared. You have to be prepared using and knowing God’s Word.

4.

Be Alert and Be Ready – Having faith, learning how to use it and knowing exactly how it works, is of no value to you, if you don’t realize you’re in the middle of a warzone. If you behave as if the enemy or person trying to attack you is a friend or a non threat, then you will simply communicate with them using friendship skills. You will overlook their discrepancies and not see it as a plot to steal, kill and destroy you (see John 10:10). You will make allowances for them and you will not take a stance of protection or fighting back. Many Christians make this mistake, thinking that they are walking in love. Just remember, if you are “walking in love” with your enemy, you are letting them through to hurt someone you love. That’s right. If you don’t stop the enemy at your door, they will enter your house and destroy what you’ve worked your whole life to build. If you have been building your home with God’s help and His guidance, then you are allowing the enemy to come in and destroy the work that God has done in you and through you. The enemy doesn’t want to be friends, he wants you dead. That’s the way we have to see people who are operating in the lie the enemy presents to them. Their acceptance of his lie, should not be your defeat.

5.

Learn to Get Back Up – In any fight, be it war or sport, there are occasions when you will miss the ball, miss the shot or be in the wrong place at the wrong time. That’s not when you beat yourself up, that’s when you get back up quickly and get in the right position. You start doing what you know is right and you keep fighting. You will win, if you faint not. Do not faint because of fear or lack of stamina to fight the enemy. You have a more powerful source of life. The enemy’s source is full of death, destruction and darkness. Keep that stuff off of you by always working with Truth and Light by Faith.

Blessings to you,

Pastor Fiona

Declaring God’s Love for Us

God’s love for us is greater than faith and hope and it abides forever.

We have God’s love by faith. His love for us strengthens our faith to work powerfully.

By faith, Christ dwells in our heart and we are rooted and grounded in His love.

God’s love for us carries us through challenges and it cannot fail.

We love the Lord God with all our heart, soul and mind and we love our neighbor as ourselves.

We are made alive in Christ because of His great love.

At Victory, our vision is to proclaim the whole word of God; to build a strong body of believers; to encourage relationships in a loving atmosphere and to reach out beyond our walls with the message of salvation, hope and inheritance.

We activate God’s word to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.  At Victory Christian Fellowship we are inheriting God’s promises and experiencing their benefits.

 Scriptures

1 Cor 13:13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. NKJV

Eph 2:4-6 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. NKJV

Gal 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails

anything, but faith working through love. NKJV

Eph 3:17-19 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height —  19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. NKJV

Matt 22:37-40 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’   38 This is the first and great commandment.  39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’   40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”  NKJV

God Loves People!

There are many people in this world who do not believe that God loves them.  You may not believe that God loves you because you may have had bad experiences, poor circumstances or the wrong things that happened to you in life.  I want to encourage you today that God loves you as a person, made in His image and in His likeness.  He loves you and has great plans for you to have a good, successful & prosperous life.

God chooses to love you and every person unconditionally.  There is nothing you could do to change the way God loves you.  God loves good people and bad people.  One reason you can know that God loves you is that He gave you His only Son to save you from sin.  Whether you believe that Jesus is God’s Son or not, He was still given to you so that you can know God and know His plan for your life.  (1 John 4:9)

Another reason you can know that God loves you is He is rich in mercy and He has made you alive with Christ even when we were dead in our sins. (Ephesians 2:4-5).  True love is merciful and shows mercy.  God loves you because He did not give you what you deserve.

A third reason you can know that God loves you is that while you were a sinner, separated from the life of God and not having a relationship with God, Christ the Messiah died for you.  Jesus died for you proving that He loves you.  He took your sin upon Himself and your punishment and died for you.  His death occurred so you could have eternal life. (Romans 5:8)

You must know that God’s love towards you is precious and steadfast.  When God decided to love you He did not plan to stop loving you.  You must take refuge and trust in God’s love.  You must have faith in God to benefit from the love He has for you.  God’s love is a free gift that has been given to you.  (Psalm 36:7)

You have to know, recognize, perceive and understand God’s love.  You have to have a revelation of God’s love for you.  It is a fact that Jesus laid down His life for you given you an example of how you should treat others.  Love has an element of sacrifice to it and true love always initiates the sacrifice to show its true nature.  You can tell how much someone loves you by the sacrifices that are made for you.  (1 John 3:16)

You can know that God loves you.  He is not the source of anything bad in your life because God is good and He is love.  God chose to love you before you were born and He will love you forever.  Hopefully you can participate in and receive from the love that God loves you with today.  Open your heart and trust in God.

How to be Loved in Your Language!

Every person has a love language that helps them connect more deeply with people and help them develop lasting relationships.

In His book, “The 5 Love Languages” , Dr. Gary Chapman lists 5 ways that people generally show and receive loved. In most cases we show love the way we would like to receive love, although there are a few exceptions. For example, even though you feel loved when someone gives you a gift, you may show love by spending time with people. Generally, the same way you want to be shown love is the same way you attempt to love those around you.

Although Dr. Chapman has encapsulated the way we feel loved through his years of working with couples and making his observations, Jesus already knew what would make us feel loved and show love. Jesus tells us how to love, He shows us what God is looking for, what we need and what our neighbors need. This encapsulates every person associated with our life, everyday.

In Luke 10:25-37 Jesus is explaining to a lawyer how the Law of Love works. It involves, God, you and your neighbor. You’re not fully getting the benefits and reward for loving if these three are not working in sync with each other. God has set things up so that you love Him first, yourself second and your neighbor third. Loving your neighbor third is not to be confused with putting others first. Loving yourself first is to follow God’s order and protocol so that you have love to love your neighbor with. Makes sense?

What I need to Do

  1. You have to know the language you speak – If you are expecting someone to speak love to you, they must know what dialect to speak. If they speak acts of service, and you only understand love to be giving of gifts, there will be a disconnect and a miscommunication of love. This will happen every time. It would be like me speaking Spanish to someone who only understands and speaks French. No matter how loudly or what Spanish words I speak, the person to whom I speak will only grow tired and frustrated because they do not understand what I’m saying to them, yet I expect them to be happy that we’re having a conversation.
  2. Love God – If you are mad at God and it’s developed to hatred, you are breaking the “sandwich” that God has put in place. You will come up unfulfilled. They build on each other. It will be difficult to love yourself, if you don’t love God.
  3. Love Yourself – If you hate yourself, it would be difficult if not impossible to love your neighbor. You cannot give out to someone what you cannot even do for you. If you don’t love yourself because you think that you are too bad of a person or that you are not good enough, “if only people knew the real you”. Then it’s the same way that you love other people. Anyone that you perceive is not good enough or that they are too “bad” of a person, will not be showed love by you. This is the order that God set things in motion.
  4. Love Your Neighbor – Everyone seem to think they have this one under control. They think that they don’t have a problem loving others. Well if you don’t love who God created you to be and who you are capable of being, you cannot love the same qualities or faults in someone else.

How to Figure Out Your Love Language

Your love language can be arranged into five categories and can be figured out quite easily. Here are the categories as stated in Dr. Gary Chapman’s book, The 5 Love Languages:

1.Words of Affirmation (kinds words, notes, affirming words), 2. Acts of Service (helping with chores, serving anytime something needs to be done), 3. Receiving Gifts (loves to give spontaneous gifts, especially when visiting or if they went on a trip somewhere), 4. Quality Time (sharing undivided attention with each other, could be in person or on the phone, as long as conversation is happening uninterrupted), 5. Physical Touch (being touched lovingly and on purpose, hugs)

Ask yourself these questions to help you figure out which one is your language.

  1. Which one of these actions would I miss if my loved one keeps refusing to offer it?
  2. Which one do I find myself withholding from people who I am upset with or feel don’t love me?
  3. I feel so taken for granted because no one has bothered to                                      for a long time.
  4. If I could just have one day where my family does                                         for me.

Track yourself for the next few days and see where your thoughts go when you are thinking of how great it would be if someone would just do this for me, to show me that they care.

I look forward to hearing your findings. Share with us.

With love,

Tenets of Faith

churchbuilding

TENETS OF FAITH

1.     The Scriptures are Inspired The Bible is the inspired Word of God, revealing the will of God.  It is the infallible rule of faith and practice for our journey through life.  II Tim. 3:16-17; I Pet. 1:23-25; Heb. 4:12; Psa. 119:89; Matt. 5:18; Isa. 40:8

2.     The One True God The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent, self-revealing “I AM”, and has further revealed Himself in the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Deut. 6:4; Mark 12:29; Isa. 43:10; Isa. 40:10-31; I Tim. 6:15-16; I John 5:7; Matt. 28:19

3.     Man, His Fall and Redemption Man was created good and upright, for God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness”.  Man, by voluntary transgressions, fell into sin and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.  Gen. 1:26, 31; Psa. 8:4-8; Gen. 3:1-7; Rom. 5:12-21; I Cor. 15:21-22; II Cor. 5:17.

4.     The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ We believe that Jesus, eternally with the Father, took upon Himself the form of man, being born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life and gave His life on the cross as the supreme sacrifice for our sins, purchasing our redemption with His blood.  Being raised the third day from the dead, He ascended into heaven and is seated at God the Father’s right hand.  Matt. 3:17; 17:5; Luke 3:22; John 1:14, 18; John 3:16, 18; I John 4:9; Isa. 9-6; John 1:33, 34; Matt. 1:18-25; Phil 2:7-11

5.     The Salvation of Man Salvation is found only in Jesus Christ.  Christ came to seek and to save the lost.  It is in Him that we have redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of sins.  While salvation was provided by the shed blood of Jesus Christ our Lord, it is our responsibility to receive this salvation of grace through faith, knowing that it is not of ourselves but is indeed a gift of God. The inward witness to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Holy Spirit to our spirit that we are the children of God.  The outward witness is a life lived in obedience to the will of God in all holiness by the power of the in-dwelling Christ.  John3:16, 17; Heb. 12:2; Acts 4:12; Luke 19:10; Eph. 1:7; John 10:9; Eph. 2:8; Rom. 8:16

6.     Baptism in Water Believers are commanded to follow our Lord in this.  Water baptism by immersion shall be administered to those who have repented of their sin and have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ.  In so doing, they declare to the world that they have died with Jesus and have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life.  Matt. 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Rom. 6:3-5; Col. 2:12; Acts 8:36, 38; Acts 16:14, 15; Acts 10:47, 48

7.     The Lord’s Supper Our Lord Himself instituted this ordinance of Holy Communion and we are to observe it till He comes again.  The bread and the wine are symbols of the broken body and shed blood of Jesus Christ and are a memorial of His suffering and death and a prophecy of His Second Coming.  All believers are encouraged to partake with reverence and understanding.  Luke 22:19-20; Matt. 26:26-28; Mark 14:22-25; John 6:48-58; I Cor. 11:23-29

8.     The Baptism in the Holy Spirit This is the promise of the Father that all believers are entitled to and should expect to receive, with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the spirit gives utterance.  This was the normal experience of all the early Christian churches.  With it comes the enduement of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry.  This wonderful gift of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is distinct from and subsequent to the New Birth.  Acts 1:4-8; Luke 24:49; Acts 2:1-4; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:1-6; John 7:37-39; Joel 2:28-29; Mark 16:17; I Cor. 12-14

9.     Sanctification The Scriptures teach a life of holiness.  By the power of the Holy Spirit, we are able to obey the Word of God, and not be dominated by sin.  Heb. 12:14; I Pet. 1:14-16; I Thes. 5:23-24; I John 2:6; Rom. 8:3

10.  Divine Healing Sickness and death are the result of man’s initial sin.  Christ came to set us free from the law of sin and death and purchased our physical healing in the atonement.  The words of Jesus before He ascended into heaven were, “They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover”.  The practice of laying on of hands for healing is an active witness to our Lord’s power to heal.  All believers have been given this privilege.  Rom. 5:12; Rom 8:2; Gal. 3:13; I Pet. 2:24; Matt. 8:16, 17; Mark 16:15-20; Jas. 5:14-15; Matt. 9:29

11.  Tithing We believe and teach the giving of ten percent of one’s income to be an integral part of the Christian’s walk with the Lord.  Abraham paid tithe before the Law was given and in the New Testament Christ affirmed the paying of tithes.  God’s blessings of prosperity are promised to those who tithe.  Tithing demonstrates God’s ownership in our lives.  Gen. 14:20; Gen. 28:2; Lev. 27:30; II Chron. 31:5; Mal. 3:8-10; Matt. 23:23; Luke 11:42; Heb. 7:6-8

12.  The Blessed Hope – The Rapture The resurrection of the dead in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain at Jesus Christ’s Second Coming is imminent, and is the blessed hope of the church.  We are looking for the coming of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ when we will be changed and will be like HIM.  I Thes. 4:13-17; Titus 2:11-14; I Cor. 15:51-52; Heb. 9:28; II Thes. 2:1; I John 3:2

13.  Heaven and Hell Heaven is a real place that God the Father has prepared for all those who follow after His Son, Jesus Christ.  There will be a new heaven and a new earth where we will forever be with our Lord. “The Devil and his angels, the Beast and the False Prophet, and whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, shall be confined to everlasting punishment in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death”.  Rev. 19:20; Mark 16:16; Rev. 20:10-15; John 14:2-3; Rev. 21:1-31; I Cor. 2:9

Confession

The Lord our God is the source of wisdom, power and strength in our life.  We call upon His name to bless us, keep us and expand our territory.  God’s hand is with us and He keeps us from harm.

We bless the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm in Christ.  He chose us before the foundation of the world to be holy and without blame before Him in love.

We are adopted as God’s children according to the good pleasure of His will.  Our God welcomes us into His family and loves us unconditionally.

The Lord who made heaven and earth blesses us out of  Zion.  The blessing of the Lord it truly makes us rich and he adds no sorrow with it.

Our vision is to proclaim the uncompromised word of God;

To build a strong body of believers;

To encourage relationships in a loving atmosphere;

To reach out beyond our walls with the message of salvation, hope and inheritance.

We activate God’s word to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

At Victory Christian Fellowship we are inheriting God’s promises and experiencing their benefits. Amen!
