Strengthening
Conviction, Building Confidence |

Over the past
few years the self help industry has grown to large proportions.
It seems that people are taking their future and the building up of
themselves at a more proactive rate than before. Yet with all
of this information available to us today we still have many who are
depressed, suicidal and dissatisfied with their life.
It is at this point that the blame shifting comes into play. You know the explanation that alleviates us of any personal responsibility for the life we now live. I would like to pose a new challenge for you this year, why not build yourself up in the Lord. Do what King David did in the Old Testament. He came back from battle with his men and found that their camp was plundered with their wives, children and possessions gone. At this critical point in his life, the men who just fought a battle with him turned against him and wanted to stone him because all of their families were taken (including David's). He did not start a defense strategy against them, he inquired of the Lord. (see I Samuel 30) Do you feel like sometimes the very people that you helped, are the ones that turn around and are ready to blame you when things go wrong. Or their would say things like, well if I didn't follow your advice this would not have happened". Does this kind of comment put you in a tailspin. Does it stop you in your tracks from moving on in your life? If you answer yes to any of these questions, then keep reading for some solutions that could help you this year. SOLUTIONS 1: Strengthen Your Conviction - What is your life's standard? What is the standard by which you make decisions? That standard determines our conviction and dedication to different things in our life. For example, if you are diving in a car and upon arriving at your destination you are given valet service. As the valet is taking your car to park it they say, "I will take good care of this beautiful horse for you". What would be the first through to cross your mind. Probably, "this is not a horse it is a car". You might even correct the valet. Well what determined to you that this was not a horse but a car? You know what a car looks like and what a horse looks like You know what the general differences are between them enough to make a correct judgment of the difference between the two. |
It's
the same way with our life. If we decide that we are going to live a
Christian life this year, then let's take every opportunity to grow in
that Christian believe system, by using the only standard available,
THE WORD OF GOD. The standard you choose for your convictions in life, needs to be the thing that does not change. The only thing that is the more sure and stable thing is the Word of God. The bible tells us so in Mark 13:31. SOLUTION 2: Build your Confidence - Once you've strengthen yourself in the standard of the Word. You will now have something to build your confidence in. In Psalms 127:1 it tells us that except the Lord builds they house, they labor in vain who build it . . . So I would say start building your confidence by fixing and working on your conviction of who God is in your life. Who is God to you? What does He mean to you? Not what He means to your family, church or children. What does He mean to you? What are your personal experiences with Him. We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the words of our testimony. We are more than conquerors, according to the Word. But do you believe that about yourself. Or do you believe the label someone else placed over you? SOLUTION 3: There is no substitute for LOVE - God is LOVE. There is no substitute for God. His banner over us is LOVE (Song of Solomon 2:4). It does not matter who has failing love against you, you MUST know that God's love for you will never fail, because God never fails. He is the one sure thing that we can always count on when everyone else decides we don't deserve their best. God always gives us His best. He demonstrated that by giving us His very best, JESUS. My friend in the Lord, I challenge you to build yourself up in the Lord, by using His Word as your standard and being all that he created you to be. Not your friend, your mama, your papa or brother, but YOU. The answer you will be giving to the King for your life will be about YOU not anyone else that you've met or know in this lifetime. So consider today what you would like to build up about you this year and start working towards God's solutions for you. Fiona Pyszka Email me with comments or a testimony
