FINANCIAL TRUTH CORNER
The Truth Shall Set You-Financially-Free. It is my desire, with the aid of the Holy Spirit, that I began a teaching series on biblical truths that will set you financially free. This teaching series will pour into the minds of this newsletters audience, the clear path to freedom from financial bondage, which the Word of God illuminates. God lets us know in Hosea that “our people perish for lack of knowledge.” It is my desire, along with both Pastor Doug and Sis. Fiona, that nobody perish for lack of knowledge.
I feel led to share one very important thing before we get started. This will not be a “God wants everyone to be rich” series. This will be something that calls on us to become aware of God’s Word as it relates to finances and put His Word into practice in our financial lives. This series will challenge you, inspire you, and hopefully transform you.
Let’s launch this series with a familiar story about three little pigs. The mother sends her three sons off to live on their own with a warning to look out for the wolf. The three little pigs need a place to live, so they decide to build their own houses. The first pig builds his house out of straw. The second pig builds his house out of sticks. How much effort do you think it took to build a straw or stick house? What would motivate the younger pigs to use straw and sticks? Was it quicker? Was it easier? Hmmmm? Now, the third pig took his time to build his house. He decided to use bricks. Well, along comes the big bad wolf. When the wolf came to the first house made of straw, he huffed and puffed and that was the end of that house. He then moved onto the second house that was made with sticks. Again, he huffed and puffed and was able to blow down the second house. Finally, the wolf comes to the third house that was wisely built with bricks. The wolf proceeds to huff and puff, and huff and puff, and huff and puff but to no avail. He could not blow down the house made of brick. The bricks made the house strong enough to withstand the attack from the wolf! Well, what about your financial house? Is your financial house built with straw, sticks, or is it built with bricks? When the “big bad wolf” visits your financial house in the form of unexpected car repairs, higher then expected heating bills, or other financial issues, will it stand?
I have good news! We will be spending the next few months discussing the “biblical” bricks that form a strong financial house. Our first brick will go into the foundation of the house. That brick deals with obedience! Until next time…….
