YOUR WORLD VIEW
What's the Population of YOUR WORLD?
by Fiona A Pyszka
Consider This
Have you ever stopped to consider the answer to the question, What's the Population of YOUR World? That's a whole different question than what's the population of THE world? For many people, their training when growing up focused on them. Whether abused or in a normal family life, the focus was still on what could be done for you. How are you going to do in the world. You must work hard, You have to have better grades and so on and so on.
Rarely do we find the child who was trained to think of others or to expand their world view, their tents, their territory. This reminds me of one such child in the bible that did decide to expand his. How did he do it? Not by hard work, or by his educational increase. Both of these are not to be eliminated but managed and purposed for the thing it was intended, information not identity.
From the Inside
1 Chronicles 4:9-10 gives us a picture of someone doing something from the inside out. You see when we do something from the inside out we are definitely destined to affect the world around us. You might be wondering what I mean by this, well to explain lets explore this passage of scripture:
1 Chron 4:9-10
9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, "I gave birth to him in pain." 10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request.
Here is a person that was named "Sorrow Maker" and yet the bible called
him more honorable than his brothers. He was also given a label based
on someone else's pain. This did not stop him from requesting what was
on the inside of him. His desire was that he would not be a pain or hurt,
but that he would be blessed and his territory (world view) would be
enlarged. What happens next, is what most people do not believe could happen
to them. God granted his request.
What About the Hard Work
Now don't get me wrong. I do believe that we should not be sluggish or sluggards. We should be a workman worthy of hire. We should look to the ants who do not wait around for leadership to tell them what to do, they know what is necessary and they do it. Being a workman worthy of hire request a study of approval not a labor of hard work when the boss is looking.
Hard work puts attention on us when people are looking or for their observation. A studying of the Word of God or about the purpose God has put you here for, puts attention and communication with God, that only He knows the deepness and richness of (II Timothy 2:15)
My Challenge to You
Does your world only include your immediate family?
Who else do you consciously think about on a daily basis?
Who is part of the ministry or work that you support to affect the world for God?
How much do you participate in the expansion of God's Kingdom through your local church?
Do you have a local church family, hence, a local family of God connection?
Do you expose yourself to enough of the world and God's family, to have an opportunity to demonstrate God's love?
Are you asking God to enlarge your territory or area of influence?
I hope these questions challenge you to think today about your life and your world view!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
