ENGAGE YOUR WHOLE
TEMPLE
Written by: Fiona

Learn how to use all of you to engage in all of what God has
placed you on earth to do. As Christians we have the added bonus of utilizing
our Spirit man that is powered by the Holy Spirit, the same Spirit that raised
Jesus from the dead. This same Spirit comes to dwell in us when we received
Jesus as our savior. The bible tells us that we are the temple of the Holy
Spirit. So how do we utilize the “whole” temple to fulfill God’s “whole”
assignment in our life.
A good place to do that would be to look at the most successful person to ever
do this, JESUS. Yes, Jesus fulfilled exactly what He came to earth to do. What
did He do with His temple? Here’s an example of what He did:
-
Utilized His mind
and intellectual skills to understand the environment He was working in
– He went to the temple when He was 12 and sat with the elders and learned
what they knew – Luke 2:42-46
-
Engaged His
Emotions
– The bible refers to Jesus weeping over Jerusalem, and being moved with
compassion. He used His emotions to recognize and then respond to the
suffering unnecessarily of people around Him. He taught them and healed and
raised people from the dead and cast out demons as a result of the emotions
He felt. Luke 19:41; Acts 10:38; I Peter 2:15
-
He recognized how
people and creation around Him responded to His Father’s Will.
He cleaned out the temple that was not used as a house of prayer. He cursed
the fig tree that looked like it had fruit but had none. He rebuked the
storm raging at sea. He acknowledged the people who responded to Him in
faith. He publicly acknowledged the worshiper who brought perfume for His
feet. He rebuked Peter who thought He was being loyal by speaking against
His death. Matt 21:15-15; Mark 11:15-17; Luke 19:45-46; Matt 15:28; Matt
8:10; Luke 7:9; Matt 26:9-13; Matt 21:18-19; Matt 16:22-23
-
He managed His
Body to do what He wanted
– He fasted for 40 days and nights in the wilderness. Note He did not fast
in a comfortable place, the wilderness was not exactly a prayer closet
somewhere in town. The wilderness was the place that danger lurked all
times of the day, whether with creatures at night or temperatures of the
day. Jesus walked to many places, He traveled with all kinds of
transportation to get to the locations He needed to be. He ate with all
kinds of people. Matt 4:2; Mark 1:15; Mark 8:13; Matt 9:10
-
He Rested
– Jesus took
time to rest. He did what His Father did. He rested in the boat in the
middle of the storm. Matt 8:24;
-
Jesus fed His
Spirit
– Jesus prayed all night on occasions. He also gave one of His biggest
secrets, He said that He didn’t do anything He didn’t first see His Father
do. Amazing that He fed His Spirit and did might works by seeing (had a
visual) of what His Father did. Matt 14:23; John 14:31
My Question to you
There are many more examples of how Jesus engaged His entire temple to do what
He was here on this earth to do. But my question to you is, how much of you do
you utilize to discover and fulfill what the Father has asked you and sent you
here to do?
Your Mind
I believe that Paul hit on something when he told us to renew our mind. It is a
key component to reshaping our believe system in Jesus Christ. It is the Word of
God that will give us the right mold to shape our futures by. I would encourage
you to take a closer look at how you have utilized the Word of God to renew your
mind.
Our Help for you
